Peru Open shortened due to national census

Updated:

The leading contenders at the Peru Open will have to stand up and be counted on Saturday after the tournament was reduced to three days so a national census can be conducted.

Only 54 holes will be played in the tournament at Los Inkas Golf Club in the capital city of Lima, as residents are required to be indoors for much of Sunday to register for the census.

The PGA Tour decided the best option was to reduce the event from four days to three in the circumstances.

Moving day will instead become the final day of the tournament as residents of Peru reveal if they have stayed put or headed on for pastures new.
