Record-breaker Li makes Hainan Open cut aged just 13
The average 13-year-old spends a Friday afternoon looking forward to finishing school for the week, but Chinese amateur Li Linqiang was busy making history at the Hainan Open.
Li became the youngest player to make a cut on the Challenge Tour after showing the composure of a seasoned professional by rolling in a putt for par on the 18th.
At the age of 13 years, 11 months and 11 days, Li will go down in the record books following his exploits on home soil.
Li is level par at the halfway mark, 12 shots adrift of leader Erik van Rooyen after the teenager signed for a a three-over 75 following a promising opening round of 69.
