Eugenie Bouchard advanced to the round of 16 at the WTA Citi Open and she was joined by Kristina Mladenovic and Ekaterina Makarova in Washington.
Bouchard recorded an overdue win, defeating Christina McHale 7-6 (8-6) 6-0 to reach the last 16 in DC on Wednesday.
Without a win since the French Open - a run of four matches - Bouchard's clash with McHale was cancelled due to rain on Tuesday but when the Canadian did take to the court, it ended in victory.
Next up for Bouchard is Germany's Andrea Petkovic.
Mladenovic - the second seed - was too good for Tatjana Maria, triumphing 7-5 3-6 6-3.
Russian seventh seed Makarova progressed to the quarter-finals with a 6-2 6-4 victory against Monica Puig.
Monica Niculescu - seeded sixth - outlasted Nao Hibino 6-3 2-6 7-6 (9-7).
In other results, Sabine Lisicki overcame Valentini Grammatikopoulou 7-6 (9-7) 7-6 (7-5), Sara Errani was upstaged 3-6 7-5 6-1 by Oceane Dodin - who booked her spot in the last eight - while Alison Van Uytvanck went down to Julia Goerges 3-6 6-3 7-6 (11-9).
