Roberts signs long-term Broncos deal

Brisbane Broncos centre James Roberts has signed a four-year deal with the NRL club.

Roberts joined the Broncos in 2016 and has enjoyed a stellar campaign this year, scoring 13 tries in 17 games.

The 24-year-old has endured several off-field issues throughout his career, but Broncos chief executive Paul White said Roberts deserved his deal.

"We are excited that James has agreed to commit to the Broncos for another four years," he said.

"The club is proud of the support we have shown James, but also the responsibility he has taken on to earn this new contract.

"The long-term nature of the contract is a show of faith by the Broncos in James, but also by James in the Broncos."

The Broncos are third in the NRL ahead of facing the Parramatta Eels on Friday.
