KL Rahul will have to wait to make his India comeback after the opening batsman was ruled out of the first Test against Sri Lanka this week due to illness.
Rahul had been due to make his first international appearance for four months in Galle, but has been laid low with a viral fever.
The elegant right-hander made a quickfire half-century on his return in a tour match last week after recovering from a shoulder injury sustained during the Test series victory over Australia.
BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary revealed that Rahul has been omitted from the series-opener as a precaution and the 25-year-old is making "rapid progress" in his recovery.
Abhinav Mukund looks set to open with Shikhar Dhawan when the first Test gets under way on Wednesday.
