The cat that got the seam? Pitch invader interrupts England's World Cup opener
England's opening fixture of the Women's Cricket World Cup against India was briefly interrupted by an unwelcome pitch invader on Saturday, as a cat darted across the outfield.
With India batting, England's fielding numbers were briefly bolstered by the feline intruder, who showed tremendous agility to evade capture and leap for freedom over the advertising hoardings.
The teams are playing each other at Derby's County Ground as one of two matches taking place on the opening day of the tournament.
Sri Lanka take on New Zealand in Bristol in the other, although there have been no sightings of any cats there... yet.
