James Anderson has provided England with a timely boost ahead of their Test series against South Africa as he prepares to make his return from a groin tear for Lancashire.
England's record wicket-taker in Tests hobbled out of Lancashire's Roses match against Yorkshire in the County Championship midway through his sixth over at Old Trafford last month.
The seamer underwent treatment from the physio but never returned to the field, instead heading to hospital for tests - which confirmed a groin tear.
After four weeks on the sidelines, Lancashire confirmed Anderson is in their squad for the four-day clash with Hampshire, which starts on Monday.
That will be welcome news within the England camp with their first Test against the Proteas starting on July 6 at Lord's.
