The Cincinnati Bengals took a chance on the most controversial player in the 2017 NFL Draft by selecting Joe Mixon in the second round.
Oklahoma running back Mixon was suspended for the entire 2014 season after punching a woman and breaking her jaw in July of that year.
Video of the incident surfaced last year, resulting in public backlash against Mixon and Oklahoma's football program.
Mixon reached a settlement with the victim, Amelia Molitor, in a civil suit last week.
Many NFL teams did not have Mixon - who was not invited to the NFL Scouting Combine - on their draft board, but the Bengals selected him with the 48th overall pick.
In 2016 Mixon ran for 1,274 yards and 10 touchdowns. For his collegiate career, he racked up 2,027 yards and 17 scores on the ground.
Mixon also caught 65 passes for 894 yards and nine touchdowns in his time at Oklahoma.
