WATCH: Blue Jays' Coghlan soars over Molina's head to score from the air
Amazing Toronto Blue Jays acrobats or a scene from a Hollywood movie?
Chris Coghlan did his best Willie Mays Hayes impression against Yadier Molina on Tuesday, going up and over the Gold Glove-winning St Louis Cardinals catcher rather than sliding and likely being tagged out as he attempted to score from first base.
Kevin Pillar belted a triple over the head of the Cardinals' Stephen Piscotty in the seventh inning of the MLB game, but the right fielder was able to quickly get to the ball and fire a throw home to beat Coghlan by several steps.
Molina was expecting a collision at the plate, but was unable to place a tag as Coghlan flipped over top of the catcher, landing on home plate with his right hand and shoulder.
