Pascal Wehrlein has shared images of his recovery from a crash that left him with three fractured vertebrae, thanking those who aided his rehabilitation after his return at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
Wehrlein suffered the injuries in an accident at the Race of Champions back in January, which saw him walk away despite his car flipping into the air before colliding with the barriers.
The Sauber driver missed the first two Grands Prix of the new Formula One season due to a lack of fitness, but made his comeback at the weekend, finishing 11th in Bahrain.
And on Monday the German took to Twitter to post images from his rehab, in which he is wearing a neck brace.
"That's history. Many thanks to those who worked so hard with me since my injury happened. Especially @SauberF1Team and @MercedesAMGF1!," he wrote.
Wehrlein recently responded to criticism over his decision not to race at the Chinese Grand Prix, saying: "I don't care too much what the others say because they didn't know my situation and they were commenting on my situation."
