The only thing that could slow the Miami Marlins' home opener was a stray cat which found its way into the outfield on Tuesday.
Miami star Giancarlo Stanton and an umpire tried to help corral the cat during the start of the sixth inning against the Atlanta Braves, but it climbed the outfield wall to avoid capture, eventually laying to rest on the club's home run structure at Marlins Park.
Marlins Park quickly announced it would monitor the movements of newly dubbed "Rally Cat", deciding to suspend the use of sculpture until the feline was safe.
Check out the strange sequence of events.
The Marlins went on for an 8-4 win over the Braves, so maybe the cat will bring good luck to the Fish this season.
