Barrett free to face Blues after red card

All Blacks fly-half Beauden Barrett will receive no further punishment for the red card he received in Hurricanes' Super Rugby game with Waratahs.

Barrett was dismissed late in the defending champions' 38-28 win on April 7, receiving a second yellow card for his second deliberate knock-on of the match.

But, following a SANZAAR Judicial Committee hearing, no further sanction will be imposed, freeing Barrett to face Blues at Eden Park on Saturday.

A statement read: "With respect to sanction the Judicial Committee ruled, after considering a number of factors, including the player's exemplary disciplinary record, that the player's ordering off merited no further sanction.

"The player is therefore free to play and will serve no suspension."

Hurricanes are second in the New Zealand conference behind Crusaders.
