Masters social round-up: Garcia finally ends wait in Augusta thriller

Updated:

Sergio Garcia is finally a major champion, winning the Masters with a play-off victory over Justin Rose after a rollercoaster final round.

Garcia's long wait finally came to an end after a birdie at the 18th - the first play-off hole - and Rose's bogey.

It was another enthralling finish to the year's first major, with Matt Kuchar producing a hole-in-one on a day that belonged to Garcia.

Here's our round-up of day four via social media.

Seve Ballesteros' son, Miguel, paid tribute to his late father on what would have been his 60th birthday and was rooting for compatriot Garcia.

Before play began there was a look back at 'that' chip from Tiger Woods in 2005 because, well, why not?

Garcia was on the charge early.

But Rose quickly bared his teeth at Augusta.

Away from the drama at the front, the exciting Jon Rahm was doing this...

Meanwhile, Kuchar was the ace in the pack at 16 as part of a charge up the leaderboard...

Garcia appeared to be pushing too hard as back-to-back bogeys left him chasing, but the Spaniard eagled the 15th to move into a tie for the lead with Rose as the thrilling finish that was promised arrived.

It was a rollercoaster conclusion, and a play-off followed...

Rose's wayward tee shot, however, would prove to be costly as Garcia's long wait finally came to an end.
