Broncos blitz and cool Kahu see off Roosters

The boot of Jordan Kahu and a second-half steamrolling guided Brisbane Broncos to a 32-8 NRL victory over Sydney Roosters on Thursday.

Trent Robinson's Roosters came into the contest on the back of their first defeat of the season - a 18-12 reverse to Manly Sea Eagles - but they were once again off the pace at Suncorp Stadium.

Kahu's boot helped the Broncos to lead 14-8 at the break, converting tries from Andrew McCullough and Sam Thaiday and slotting over a penalty, while touchdowns for Mitchell Aubusson and Blake Ferguson went unconverted for the visitors.

The Roosters completely wilted after the interval, however, and the Broncos took full advantage.

Korbin Sims and James Roberts crossed - Kahu doing the honours once more, although the back's perfect outing from the tee was wrecked in the final moments after David Mead touched down in the corner and he could not make it seven from seven.
