No 'serious concerns' for India skipper Kohli after shoulder injury scare

Virat Kohli's shoulder strain is giving India no "serious concerns" after he was hurt on day one of the third Test against Australia in Ranchi.

The India captain walked off the field in pain after damaging his right shoulder when diving to attempt to prevent a Peter Handscomb boundary in the afternoon session on Thursday.

Kohli consequently missed the rest of play as Australia racked up 299-4 and was sent for scans to determine the extent of the injury.

However, India are confident that there is no significant damage to their skipper.

"Captain Virat Kohli [is] recuperating from [a] shoulder strain. Relevant investigations have revealed that there are no serious concerns," the BCCI posted on Twitter.

India are locked at 1-1 in the four-match series.
