Daly on course to face Ireland

Steve Borthwick has revealed that Elliot Daly is on course to play when England attempt to make history by beating Ireland in the Six Nations on Saturday.

Daly was unable to continue as a result of Fraser Brown's tip-tackle early in a 61-21 drubbing of Scotland last weekend, which sealed back-to-back titles for Eddie Jones' men.

And, according to England forwards coach Borthwick, Daly is on track to feature when England attempt to claim a record-breaking 19th consecutive victory.

"Elliot is progressing really well through the return-to-play protocols. He's gone through every stage really well so far," Borthwick said on Wednesday.

"He has a contact session [on Wednesday] afternoon and then it's team training [on Thursday]."
