Panthers thrash Tigers, Radradra inspires Eels

Penrith Panthers bounced back from their opening-match defeat with a 36-2 mauling of Wests Tigers in the NRL.

Having been beaten by St George Illawarra Dragons in their season-opening game, the Panthers - who reached the semi-finals last year - were dominant at Campbelltown Stadium on Sunday.

Anthony Griffin's side ran in six tries as they clocked up 18 points in each half, with the toothless Tigers managing only a penalty goal in response.

Dean Whare touched down twice, with debutant Viliame Kikau joining him on the scoresheet, along with the impressive Dylan Edwards, Leilani Latu and Nathan Cleary.

The Dragons, however, suffered an unwanted reversal of fortunes as they were downed at home by Parramatta Eels, who set the tone for their 34-16 triumph with Clint Gutherson's try after just 38 seconds.

Semi Radradra was the star of the show, though, scoring four of his side's seven tries.
