Wehrlein gets green light for second F1 pre-season test

Updated:

Pascal Wehrlein has been given medical clearance to drive for Sauber in Formula One's second pre-season test.

A back injury sustained while competing at the Race of Champions in January ruled the German out of the sessions at the Circuit de Catalunya last week.

Ferrari reserve driver Antonio Giovinazzi filled his seat, but Wehrlein has been granted permission to return to action on Tuesday.

"Green light for tomorrow! Can't wait to be on the track!" Wehrlein posted on Twitter.

Sauber completed 349 laps during the first test, with reigning champions Mercedes and Ferrari the only teams to register more.
