Salford and Hull KR fined for crowd trouble

Updated:

Hull KR and Salford Red Devils have been fined by the Rugby Football League (RFL) for crowd trouble after the Million Pound Game at Craven Park last October.

Supporters clashed on the pitch after a golden-point drop goal from Gareth O'Brien in extra time cost Rovers their place in Super League.

The RFL launched an investigation into the unsavoury scenes and have slapped a £25,000 fine on Hull KR - £20,000 of which will be suspended.

Salford were hit with a £10,000 fine - although £7,500 of that was suspended - and an additional suspended fine of £3,000 for fighting which broke out in their match at Huddersfield Giants last March.

Both clubs accepted the punishments and were ordered to pay costs of £2,048.86 apiece for the investigation.
