Fans will not have to wait long to get a look at the Dallas Cowboys' dynamic duo of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott next season.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced on Thursday that the Cowboys will face the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame game August 3 in Canton, Ohio.
The annual game opens the NFL preseason and is a featured part of the Hall of Fame's induction weekend. But this year's game will for the first time be played on Thursday, instead of Sunday.
The move accomplishes two things. First, it puts the weekend's focus squarely on the HOF enshrinement ceremony on Saturday. It also preserves the field, which usually sees heavy use during the long weekend.
The 2016 Hall of Fame game between the Indianapolis Colts and Green Bay Packers was cancelled because of poor field conditions.
