Eugenie Bouchard allowed her unusual date to end in a kiss as one fortunate student enjoyed an evening with the WTA number 44.
After agreeing to a date with a fan who asked her out on Twitter during the Super Bowl, Bouchard met 20-year-old University of Missouri student John Goehrke and took in the Nets' game against the Milwaukee Bucks in Brooklyn.
When the New England Patriots were down 28-3 to the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, Goehrke decided to go out on a limb and shot off a tweet to Bouchard asking if she would go on a date with him if the Patriots came back to win.
"Sure," was the response from the Canadian tennis star, who then watched on as the Patriots made a remarkable comeback to secure a 34-28 overtime victory.
Immediately after the game, Bouchard tweeted to Goehrke, asking: "So... where do you live?"
The pair were finally united on Wednesday, Bouchard publishing a couple of posts on Twitter showing her and Goehrke enjoying their date.
And there was a further update to come on Thursday, with Goehrke seemingly having charmed Bouchard enough to be allowed to give her a kiss on the cheek.
