McGregor hits back at Mayweather on social media

Updated:

While a mega-fight is not guaranteed, you know it is almost certain that Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will continue to toy with each other outside of the ring.

And that is how it is panning out after retired boxing champion Mayweather rubbished rumours regarding the pair's proposed cross-combat blockbuster.

Responding to reports that he and UFC star McGregor had agreed to "a multi-million dollar deal", Mayweather took to social media to insist he is "happily retired" after walking away from the sport in 2015.

It was only a matter of time before McGregor hit back and the Irish star did exactly that via Instagram.

I am in Las Vegas. Floyd has retired on my arrival.
