Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is expected to miss six to eight weeks after undergoing knee surgery in New York City on Tuesday, the team announced.
Love was slated to play in the All-Star Game over the weekend, but will now have to watch from the sidelines.
Coach Tyronn Lue is worried about his big man's health. With teams like the Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics and Atlanta Hawks all playing good basketball, Cleveland can ill-afford to lose a key cog for a serious length of time.
"[It is] always concerned when guys are going down," Lue said. "And we're already limited as it is. Definitely concerned, but got to see how he feels. Just, get evaluated [Tuesday] and see how he feels."
Channing Frye will likely fill into Love's shoes while he is out.
