The Tour de France Grand Depart will return home in 2018 with the Vendee region on the Atlantic coast hosting the opening stages.
It will be the sixth time the region has staged the Grand Depart since 1976, the most recent coming in 2011 when Cadel Evans went on to claim the yellow jersey in Paris.
French newspaper LeTelegramme reports the opening stages of 2018 will be centred around the Puy du Fou historical theme park in Les Epesses.
Full details of next year's route are yet to be released by Tour organisers.
This year's edition of the race sees Dusseldorf in Germany welcome the peloton for the opening two days, before the route moves on through Belgium and back into France.
