Patriots' Long skipping White House visit
Add Chris Long to the growing list of New England Patriots players with no intention of visiting the President Donald Trump's White House.
In response to an open letter written to him by Chuck Modiano of the New York Daily News, the Patriots defensive end confirmed his plan to skip the White House visit and stated he did not need anyone to urge him not to go.
Long also clarified his decision was his own and not influenced by others.
"Oh Chuck. Planned on skipping, hadn't been asked. Don't need an open letter explaining my own words to me. Not *joining* anyone. My call," Long wrote on Twitter.
Long is the fourth Patriots player to say he will not visit Trump after team-mates Martellus Bennett, Devin McCourty, and Dont'a Hightower said they are not interested in making the traditionally customary White House trip.
