Australia batsman Nic Maddinson is taking an indefinite break from cricket due to personal reasons.
The 25-year-old did not play in New South Wales' Sheffield Shield clash against Victoria last week and will now not be available against Queensland as he takes time away from the game.
A joint statement from Cricket Australia and Cricket New South Wales read: "Cricket Australia and Cricket NSW advises that Australian and NSW batsman Nic Maddinson will not be available for selection due to personal reasons, until further notice."
Maddinson made his Test debut against South Africa in November as Australia rang the changes following big defeats in the first two contests of that three-match series.
However, the 25-year-old failed to score in his only innings of that fixture, before making just one and four in the first Test against Pakistan in Brisbane.
Maddinson added only 22 in the Melbourne contest, which started on Boxing Day, and was dropped for the third Test at the SCG.
