New Zealand batsman Tom Latham was grilled by an unlikely source on the eve of the Chappell-Hadlee series decider against trans-Tasman rivals Australia.
Fronting up to the media before Sunday's third and final one-day international in Hamilton, Latham's news conference was gatecrashed by Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell.
Before stepping out for training with his Australia team-mates, Maxwell fired some questions at Latham and to the New Zealander's credit he dealt with them in his stride.
Sitting among a group of journalists on Saturday, Maxwell started off by asking "After a disappointing showing in the Australian series, how important is it for you guys to win the last game of the series?"
Initially humoured by the situation, Latham then responded to all of Maxwell's questions.
Maxwell then headed to training at Seddon Park, with touring Australia trailing 1-0 after the second ODI was washed out in Napier.
