Brumbies face a nervy wait to learn the extent of a knee injury suffered by Tomas Cubelli in a pre-season fixture against Waratahs.
The Argentina scrum-half crumpled under a tackle close to the try line shortly before half-time of Brumbies' 53-17 defeat.
Cubelli left the ground in the brace, but was able to walk from the pitch.
Head coach Stephen Larkham says Brumbies are unsure of the severity of the injury and it remains to be seen if he will be fit for their Super Rugby season opener at Crusaders on February 25.
"He was in a lot of pain, but we'll have to wait to see how he is," Larkham told reporters.
"The brace was precautionary, the positive was that he was able to walk off the field. But with these things we just don't know and we'll have to make an assessment.
"He had some great involvements out there, he's come back after an international season and really wants to improve so we'll see how he is [on Sunday]. It's a bit of a shame."
Last week, Brumbies lost winger Lausii Taliauli to a potentially season-ending knee injury.
