Kings, Flames and Caps score five

It was goals galore in NHL as the Los Angeles Kings, the Calgary Flames and the Washington Capitals enjoyed wins.

Los Angeles were in devastating form on Wednesday in a 5-0 shutout of the Colorado Avalanche.

Jeff Carter scored twice for the Kings, who extended their winning streak to four games.

The Flames were 5-1 winners over the in-form Minnesota Wild in Calgary.

A pair of goals from Sean Monahan inspired the Flames to back-to-back victories.

The defeat ended Wild's record 14-game road point streak.

Meanwhile, the Capitals powered past the Boston Bruins 5-3.
