Sachin Tendulkar and Stan Wawrinka were among the sporting stars and teams lauding Roger Federer after his sublime Australian Open win.
Swiss great Federer secured his 18th grand slam title with a five-set win against Rafael Nadal in a final for the ages at Melbourne Park.
Praise came from far and wide for the 35-year-old, who is now four clear for most majors won by men in history.
Tendulkar, the former India batsman considered among the greatest cricketers of all-time, saluted Federer.
Those in the world of tennis were also among those singing his praises, including Wawrinka - the man he beat in the semi-finals.

Federer was also congratulated by Swiss football league champions Basel, the club he supports.
Nadal, the 14-time major champion and a gracious loser, was also praised.
Manchester United and Spain midfielder Ander Herrera described him as the greatest sportsperson the country has ever produced.
