India rest Ashwin and Jadeja for England T20 series

India have rested spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja for the Twenty20 international series against England.

Amit Mishra and Parvez Rasool have replaced the key duo, who played in all five Tests and the three-match one-day international series against England.

Experienced leg-spinner Mishra was recalled to the India squad for their last T20 against West Indies in Florida after an absence of over two years and claimed impressive figures of 3-24.

Off-spinning all-rounder Rasool has won just the one ODI cap back in 2014 and is in contention to make his first T20 appearance for India in the three-match series - which starts in Kanpur on Thursday.

India took the ODI series 2-1 after England won a thriller at Eden Gardens by five runs on Sunday.
