The NFL says the AFC playoff game between the Chiefs and the Steelers will go on as scheduled at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday, despite icy conditions in the Kansas City area.
The league tweeted a statement on the situation early on Sunday afternoon.
It read: "Tonight's Steelers-Chiefs divisional playoff game on NBC will move forward as announced at 8:20pm [local time].
"We feel comfortable, after consulting with state and local authorities and both teams, that we can proceed tonight without resulting in any negative impact on public safety resources.
"We will continue to monitor the weather and urge anyone traveling to the game to use appropriate caution and heed any warnings from local authorities."
On Friday, the league announced it was moving the game from its originally scheduled 1:05pm start time to 8:20pm because of the winter storm.
The National Weather Service has an ice storm warning in effect in the area, while game-time temperatures are expected to be around zero degrees Celsius.
