Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed that talks have begun regarding a potential fight between Manny Pacquiao and Kell Brook later this year.
Pacquiao, whose professional career has spanned 22 years, is due to defend his WBO world welterweight title against Australia's Jeff Horn in April.
Brook is scheduled for a mandatory defence of his IBF welterweight belt against Errol Spence Jr at some stage this year, while an all-British affair with Amir Khan appears a genuine possibility.
But speaking on Wednesday, Hearn confirmed he was in talks over setting up a date for Brook and Pacquiao to go head to head.
"I have been speaking with Bob Arum about a Kell Brook versus Manny Pacquiao fight," Hearn told Sky Sports.
"We are ready to go with that right now, but I think they like the idea of fighting Horn first, so we will now try and work for an autumn fight.
"Obviously our priority is the big British fight with Amir and we also have the Errol Spence Jr fight. Either way, Kell's future will be mapped out in the next month."
