Richard Cockerill has joined Top 14 giants Toulon as a consultant, less than a week after being sacked as Leicester Tigers' director of rugby.
Former England international Cockerill led the Tigers to three Premiership crowns and a runners-up spot in the 2009 European Champions Cup.
However, a disappointing campaign to date sees Leicester trailing Premiership leaders Wasps by 15 points and struggling in the European Champions Cup pool.
Cockerill, who spent two seasons in France as a player, joins fellow Englishman Mike Ford at Stade Mayol.
Toulon are fourth in France's top flight, five points adrift of leaders Clermont Auvergne, and sit second in Champions Cup Pool 3, fighting Scarlets for a place in the next round behind runaway leaders and European champions Saracens.
