Banvit win Aris thriller to progress
Banvit triumphed 95-94 in overtime against Aris to qualify for the Basketball Champions League play-offs in a thrilling clash in Turkey.
It was the hosts who started the Group A clash brightest and led 45-38 at the midway point, but Aris fought back to lead with time ticking away.
Gediminas Orelik twice proved the hero for Banvit - his lay-up tying the game with 0.1 seconds left in regulation time, before his shot won the game on the buzzer in overtime.
Jordan Theodore finished with 22 points, 14 assists and six rebounds for Banvit, but all is not lost for Aris, who are also assured of their place in the next phase.
AS Monaco top the group and were already guaranteed progression - they beat Ironi Nahariya 73-67 on Tuesday, while third-placed CEZ Nymburk triumphed 87-72 over Fraport Skyliners.
Helios Suns beat Bakken Bears 74-68 in the group's remaining fixture.
Iberostar Tenerife's ninth win of the season - a 75-72 victory at SIG Strasbourg - sees them into the play-offs from Group D, while there were also wins for Juventus Utena and Cibona over Mega Leks (85-78) and KK Mornar (92-81) respectively.
In Group E's only fixture, Besiktas Sompo Japan picked up an 84-66 win at Stelmet Zielona Gora to progress.
