The Parramatta Eels have released Vai Toutai after an alleged off-field incident in late 2016.
In a statement on Sunday, the Eels said they and Toutai, 23, "agreed to a mutual release from his contract".
It leaves the wing without a club ahead of the 2017 NRL season.
"The club is aware of an incident that took place in December 2016 and, as per the club's normal protocols, the club kept all relevant stakeholders updated throughout the entire process," an Eels statement read.
"This included the NRL Integrity unit."
Toutai is alleged to have attacked another man at a pub during a night out in Sydney in December.
