Phil Mickelson will make his comeback in the Farmers Insurance Open next month.
The five-time major champion has undergone two hernia operations since he was last in competitive action at the Safeway Open in October.
Mickelson will not play in the CareerBuilder Challenge, a tournament which he is an ambassador of, in Palm Desert, California from January 19-22 as he recovers from his latest surgery.
However, the 46-year-old will be in the field at the Farmers Insurance Open, a tournament which he has won three times, in his hometown of San Diego the following week.
The world number 19 was runner-up in The Open this year and played his part in United States' successful Ryder Cup triumph, but has not won a tournament since back in 2013.
