Stephen Jones has been added to Robin McBryde's backroom team for Wales' tour of the Pacific Islands in June.
Forwards coach McBryde was handed the reins for the tour after interim boss Rob Howley was appointed to Warren Gatland's coaching staff for the British and Irish Lions tour of New Zealand.
McBryde - who has previously covered for Gatland in 2009 and 2013 - has also added Danny Wilson and Matt Sherratt to his staff ahead of matches against Tonga and Samoa
Jones, who made 104 appearances for Wales as a fly-half, twice won the Six Nations Grand Slam during his international career and is now backs coach at Scarlets.
McBryde said: "The appointments will not only be hugely beneficial to the national squad, but to the whole game in Wales providing an opportunity for all three coaches to further enhance their coaching experience.
"Next summer we are going to be facing two passionate rugby nations, it will be a challenge for both players and coaches, but also an opportunity for us all."
