Newcastle Knights have signed Huddersfield Giants centre Joe Wardle, with Jake Mamo heading in the opposite direction to the Super League club.
Wardle, 25, has signed a three-year contract with the Knights after playing more than 140 games for Huddersfield.
The Giants have added 22-year-old Mamo, released from the final year of his Newcastle contract, to their squad on a two-year deal.
Knights coach Nathan Brown was delighted with the signing of Wardle, saying: "I coached Joe during my time in England and know he will be a great addition to our young squad.
"Joe comes with plenty of Super League experience and adds some real versatility to our squad. He is as comfortable in the second row as he is at centre."
As for Mamo, Brown wished the full-back and wing all the best after 29 NRL games for the club.
"Jake should be proud of what he has achieved at the club and we thank him for his contribution," he said.
"Jake has our very best wishes for the future."
Mamo's move allowed Wardle to sign with the Knights from next year, after initially agreeing to a deal starting in 2018.
