KL Rahul bemoaned what he described as a "horrible shot" as he missed out on a double hundred in the fifth Test between India and England.
Rahul frustrated England with a magnificent innings as India - who have already won the series having taken an unassailable 3-0 lead - reached 391-4 in response to the tourists' first-innings 477 on day three in Chennai.
But an otherwise excellent day for Rahul ended in agony as he was denied a score of 200 when he spooned a wide delivery from Adil Rashid into the grasp of Jos Buttler, the opener sinking to his knees in disappointment.
And speaking after the end of the day's play, Rahul said: "Now you understand when your coach tells you that one run will be important.
"But I have to be grateful for the 199 runs I got there and I will have to live with this.
"I didn't get my double hundred, I played a horrible shot and that is something I will take and move on and get a double hundred next time I play.
"It takes a little time to sink in, I thought I was going to get a double hundred because I was batting really well but again, it's something I have to live with and come back stronger next time."
