La Rochelle gain revenge over Gloucester, Quins and Ospreys run riot
La Rochelle beat Gloucester 42-13 on Saturday to replace the English side at the top of Pool 1 in the European Challenge Cup.
Gloucester had run out comfortable winners in last weekend's reverse meeting at Kingsholm, but it was a different story at Stade Marcel Deflandre as Gabriel Lacroix's brace of tries helped La Rochelle to a bonus point.
Both teams now have 15 points, while Benetton Treviso are up to eight after completing back-to-back European wins for the first time in 12 years with a 21-17 victory over Bayonne.
The miserable campaigns of Timisoara Saracens and Grenoble continued as both teams were beaten by humiliating scorelines.
Romanian side Timisoara had Randall Morrison sent off after two minutes in their meeting with Harlequins and were duly thrashed 75-3 as the Premiership side moved top of Pool 5.
Grenoble fared little better, shipping 11 tries in a 71-3 hammering at the Ospreys, the unbeaten leaders of Pool 2.
