Unified middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin will defend his belts against Danny Jacobs at Madison Square Garden on March 18, both fighters confirmed on Saturday.
The unbeaten Golovkin improved his supreme record to 36-0 in September with a fifth-round stoppage of Kell Brook, the Kazakh's 17th successive middleweight title defence.
Next up for the 34-year-old - rated as one of the leading pound-for-pound boxers in the world - is a meeting with Jacobs (32-1), who was put forward as a mandatory challenger by the WBA in September.
Jacobs, the WBA's secondary title-holder, comprehensively defeated Sergio Mora in his most recent outing and is nicknamed 'The Miracle Man' after overcoming cancer to continue his career.
In a tweet from his official account, Golovkin wrote: "It's official, I'm fighting Danny Jacobs on March 18 at MSG @thegarden NY on HBO ppv, see you there!"
Jacobs also confirmed the fight on Saturday, sharing an Instagram video in which he said: ""It's going down. Me vs. Triple G, Madison Square Garden, March 18. I'm excited. I'm ready to shock the world."
