All the banners, Christmas carols and pitch-invaders from the protest disruptions at Coventry City

Updated:

Coventry City's game against Sheffield United was marred last night by protests which twice stopped the run of play.

The West Midlands club is faced with passionate opposition from fans over their owners Sisu - a hedge fund - after they lost six games in a row and were left languishing a point off the bottom of League One.

The protests - which included pitch invasions along with banners and chants - were so severe they delayed the match kicking off.

Pitch invasions were repeated at half time.

And in the 86th minute.

But other protests were less disruptive.

And even quite festive.

Now that's how to show your displeasure.

According to some, things might not be getting better for the owners soon too.

And many think last night wasn't about the game at all, but the message from the stands.

Well, it was three points lost actually - as Sheffield battled through the pauses in play and nicked it 2-1 with a goal just after the 86th minute protest.

Until change comes around or the protests are appeased, results at the Ricoh Arena may not improve.
