Mourinho reluctant to disrupt resurgent United

Updated:

Jose Mourinho says he may have to make changes to his Manchester United XI during the busy run of fixtures ahead, but does not want to compromise the spine of the team.

United have enjoyed something of an upturn in fortunes after an inconsistent spell during Mourinho's first campaign at the helm, defeating Premier League rivals Tottenham 1-0 at home on Sunday to remain unbeaten in all competitions since losing 2-1 at Fenerbahce on November 3.

They face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday, followed by winnable clashes with West Brom, Sunderland, Middlesbrough and West Ham in quick succession.

Speaking to United's website, the Portuguese was asked if he intends to shake things up in the coming weeks.

"A bit. I think to rotate the whole structure is a big risk and makes no sense," he said.

"Even with other options, there is always a spine and structure that you cannot change unless you have to. But I will rotate a bit. [Moving] some pieces of the puzzle, you have to do it."
