Hartley set for hearing on Wednesday

Dylan Hartley will on Wednesday discover how much of a part he can play in England's defence of their Six Nations title next year.

The England captain was shown a red card for striking Sean O'Brien on the head with a swinging arm after coming off the bench in Northampton Saints' European Champions Cup defeat to Leinster on Friday.

Hartley could face a lengthy ban given he has been found guilty of a host of offences during a chequered career in which he has served 54 weeks' suspension.

The 30-year-old is set for an independent hearing to discover the duration of his latest ban.

England begin their Six Nations campaign with a clash against France at Twickenham on February 4.
