Spurs suffer first road loss, 26 for Curry in Warriors win
The Chicago Bulls put a stop to the San Antonio Spurs' 100 per cent record on the road in the NBA this season with a 95-91 victory on Thursday.
The Spurs came into the meeting having won all 13 meetings away from home, but came unstuck at United Center.
Dwyane Wade top-scored for the Bulls with 20 points, while Rajon Rondo (12-10-9) came close to a triple-double.
Elsewhere, Steph Curry dropped in 26 points as the Golden State Warriors made it eight road wins in succession thanks to a 106-99 triumph at the Utah Jazz.
WARRIORS EXTEND CONFERENCE LEAD
That win improved the Warriors to 20-3, two games clear of the Spurs at the Western Conference's summit.
Curry was the star man once again, his efforts aided by 11 rebounds from Kevin Durant and Draymond Green's eight assists.
The Warriors led 65-46 at the half and, although the Jazz fought back in quarters three and four - Joe Ingles contributing 21 points - they could not prevent their visitors departing with another victory.
HOIBERG HAILS BULLS DISPLAY
As the Bulls moved to 12-10 in the middle of the Eastern Conference, their win over the Spurs earned the praise of coach Fred Hoiberg.
"The guys did a great job of following the game plan and coming out and doing what we wanted to do. The ball was moving," he said.

The outstanding performance of Thursday came in the Memphis Grizzlies' narrow win over the Portland Timbers.
Marc Gasol netted 36 points in the Grizzlies' 88-86 success, with nine rebounds as the hosts recorded a fifth straight victory.
The Grizzlies were eight behind heading into the final quarter, but two late free-throws from Toney Douglas helped see them home.
