Thompson scores 40, Warriors explode during first half against Pacers

Klay Thompson may often feel like the third wheel on a date while watching the Golden State Warriors offense usually run through reigning MVP Steph Curry and Kevin Durant, but it was him that went off in the first half of Monday's NBA game against the Indiana Pacers.

Despite playing just 18 minutes in the first half, Thompson poured in 40 points on 15-of-22 shooting as the Warriors held an 80-50 half-time lead.

The slick-shooting two-time All-Star had not scored more than 30 points in a game entering Monday's contest.

With the Cleveland Cavaliers beating up on Eastern Conference foes and the Warriors really starting to gel, it appears the NBA Finals could already be written in stone this season.
