Rokoduguni sparkles as England trounce Fiji

Semesa Rokoduguni scored his first international tries in a man-of-the-match display against his country of birth as ruthless England hammered Fiji 58-15 at Twickenham on Saturday.

Bath wing Rokoduguni, making only his second appearance for England two years after his debut, caused the Pacific Islanders all sorts of problems and claimed a try in each half as England ran riot.

The Six Nations champions turned on the style to put hapless Fiji to the sword with a nine-try demolition job and have now won 12 consecutive games - and 11 in a row under Eddie Jones.

Jonathan Joseph took advantage of his recall by helping himself to a double, while Elliott Daly, Teimana Harrison and Alex Goode all claimed their first England tries in a one-sided Test.

Joe Launchbury also touched down twice, while Nemani Nadolo, Leone Nakarawa and Metui Talebula scored consolation tries on a gruelling afternoon for the Pacific Islanders in which Owen Farrell booted 11 points to pass the 500 mark for his country.

Joseph darted over just four minutes in after rampant England worked the ball out to the left following a powerful burst from Mako Vunipola and Farrell converted expertly.

Daly, switched from centre to the wing after being preferred to Joseph for the win over South Africa last weekend, showed a great turn of foot to scoot over soon after George Ford picked him out with a clever pass.

Farrell converted to join Jonny Wilkinson as the only Englishman to reach the 500 landmark for his country and the rapid Rokoduguni cashed in on some suspect defending when he went over in the corner to make it 19-0 just 12 minutes in.

Harrison got in on the act soon after when Fiji were unable to stop a driving maul, then Launchbury added a fifth try before imposing wing Nadolo finished on the left flank and failed to add the extras after stepping up for the conversion attempt.

Nakarawa reached out to touch down on the stroke of half-time to reduce the deficit to 34-10 and Talebula went over in the corner early in the second half to give Fiji a glimmer of hope.

But a fightback was never on the cards and Vunipola put a maiden England try on a plate for Goode before the alert Joseph intercepted a stray pass to go under the posts.

Rokoduguni had a deserved double when Ford whipped a pace out wide for the rampaging flyer and Launchbury completed the scoring after another slick move cut sorry Fiji apart.
