Deflategate was the never-ending series of frustrations that eventually caused Tom Brady to give up and just accept his punishment.
He missed the first four games of this season as part of the NFL's discipline, and the team was just fine in his absence. Perhaps that is why the New England Patriots quarterback feels comfortable enough now to make jokes about the subject, which he did in a Foot Locker commercial released on Wednesday.
"Why can't some things just be great?" Brady asks in the commercial, responding to fans. "It starts with questions, and then questions turn into assumptions, and then assumptions turn into vacations. So why would you punish the Week of Greatness for something that never even happened?'
