Western Force hooker Heath Tessmann has re-signed with the Super Rugby club for another two seasons.
Tessmann, who has 63 Super Rugby caps, extended his stay until at least the end of the 2018 campaign.
The 32-year-old made just nine appearances last season before suffering a leg injury.
Force head coach Dave Wessels was delighted to retain Tessmann, praising the veteran's leadership.
"Heath is a leader both on and off the field," he said.
"He's very competitive, but he's also a very outgoing social person around the club and when you blend those together you end up with a really nice mix."
Force endured a miserable 2016 season, winning just two of 15 games.
